Fabric Building Repairs

Tear repair, membrane replacement, storm damage and structural fixes for MegaDome and every other fabric building brand in Ontario.

ENGINEERED FABRIC BUILDINGS

Built for purpose. Built for Ontario.

Fabric buildings are engineered to last decades — but Ontario weather is brutal, and any structure exposed to ice loading, hurricane-force wind events, falling trees or impact damage will eventually need professional attention. Building Depot is Ontario's MegaDome repair specialist and works on every major fabric building brand in the province.

Our repair crews carry the same engineering, certifications and equipment as our new-build teams: WSIB-covered installers, certified welders, $5M liability insurance, OBC-stamped engineering on every structural fix, and full ladder/lift/fall-protection compliance. The same people who put up new MegaDome buildings are the ones repairing aging ones.

We handle the full repair spectrum — small membrane patches, full panel replacement, cable and ratchet re-tensioning, truss reinforcement, anchor and base-plate corrosion repair, end-wall and door rebuilds, ridge venting, snow-shedding modifications, and complete recovers. Emergency mobilization is available 24/7 for storm damage and insurance claim work.

Repair quotes are detailed, photographed and broken down line-by-line so you can submit them directly to your insurance carrier. We've worked with every major Canadian commercial insurer and provide all the documentation adjusters require — including drone photography, engineering reports and detailed scope-of-work breakdowns.

ONTARIO'S AUTHORIZED MEGADOME DEALER

The complete guide to fabric building repairs.

Building Depot is the Authorized MegaDome Dealer for Ontario and fabric building repair services are one of the most-specified MegaDome configurations across the province. Engineered fabric building repair services combine a hot-dip galvanized steel arch frame with a high-tenacity PVC membrane to deliver a clear-span, naturally lit, corrosion-resistant envelope that lasts decades with a fraction of the operating cost of conventional steel or wood construction.

Building Depot operates an Ontario-wide fabric building repair service for MegaDome and other engineered fabric buildings. Common repairs include membrane patching after storm or wildlife damage, ratchet tensioner and hardware replacement, anchor bolt re-tightening after seasonal soil movement, ridge vent and louver repairs, and end-wall repairs after equipment impact.

Our service team works on Building Depot-installed buildings as well as fabric buildings originally installed by other dealers and contractors. We carry a full inventory of replacement membrane, hardware, brackets, ratchets and ventilation parts in Ontario, which means repair calls are typically scheduled within days, not the weeks it can take a U.S.-based supplier to ship parts across the border.

This page is the complete Ontario reference for fabric building repair services — covering benefits, applications, construction process, engineering, foundation options, installation, warranty and ongoing maintenance. Every Building Depot project is delivered turnkey under one accountable contract: in-house engineering, stamped Ontario drawings, municipal permit management, foundation construction, fabric installation and full commissioning. One contract, one project manager, one phone number from kickoff to keys.

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

From contract to keys.

Repair projects start with an on-site inspection by a Building Depot service technician — typically within 5 business days of the initial call for non-emergency repairs and within 24–48 hours for storm or impact emergencies. The technician documents the damage, photographs the failure mode, measures any membrane area requiring replacement and prepares a scope-of-work quote that the owner (or their insurance adjuster) can authorize directly.

For insurance-driven claims, Building Depot supplies engineered damage documentation, photographic evidence and a scope of work that aligns to insurance industry expectations. We work directly with the adjuster on scope and pricing where the owner authorizes that coordination.

Once the scope is approved, parts are pulled from our Ontario inventory and a service date is scheduled. Most repairs are completed in a single visit — large membrane replacements may run 2–3 days. Owners receive an engineered repair certificate at completion that documents the work for warranty and insurance records.

ENGINEERING

Stamped Ontario engineering on every project.

Every MegaDome fabric building repair services Building Depot delivers in Ontario ships with third-party engineering sealed by an Ontario P.Eng. and certified to CSA A660 — the Canadian standard for pre-engineered steel building systems. Engineering accounts for site-specific snow loads (1.6–3.5 kPa across the province), hourly wind pressures per the Ontario Building Code, unbalanced snow drift conditions and any seismic factors. Drawings include the full structural design, foundation reactions, anchor bolt schedules and ventilation specifications, and are submitted directly into the municipal permit package.

Engineering is included in every Building Depot quote — never billed separately, never outsourced to a third party the owner has to chase. The same engineering team that designs the building stands behind it through the permit process, the foundation inspection and any post-construction follow-up. That single accountable contract is why GTA developers, Northern Ontario mining operators and Eastern Ontario municipalities specify MegaDome through Building Depot as their default fabric building solution.

FOUNDATION OPTIONS

Engineered to your site, your budget and your soil.

Pier Re-Anchor

Re-anchoring of arch base brackets after seasonal soil movement. Common Eastern and Northern Ontario service.

Slab Crack Repair

Foundation slab crack repair and re-grouting at the base channel. Restores the structural connection between slab and frame.

Curb Wall Repair

Curb wall repair and re-anchoring after impact or settlement.

L-Block Re-Set

Pre-cast L-block re-setting after settlement or loader impact.

INSTALLATION

Turnkey installation by Building Depot crews.

Building Depot repair crews are the same crews that install new MegaDome buildings — there is no third-party sub-contracting and no finger-pointing between an installer and a manufacturer. Every repair is performed using OEM MegaDome parts, original-spec tensioners and the same engineered procedures we use on a new build, which preserves the building's manufacturer warranty.

For storm and emergency repairs, we mobilize from our nearest Ontario depot — GTA, Eastern Ontario or Northern Ontario — and typically have a crew on site within 24–72 hours of authorization, weather permitting. Routine non-emergency repairs are scheduled within 2–4 weeks of authorization, faster when seasonal demand allows.

WARRANTY

Backed for the long haul.

MegaDome fabric building repair services carry a 25-year limited warranty on the structural steel frame and a 15-year limited warranty on the PVC membrane. Both warranties cover materials and workmanship and are honoured directly by Building Depot — Ontario's Authorized MegaDome Dealer — so warranty claims are resolved by the same team that installed the building, not bounced between a dealer, a manufacturer and a sub-contracted installer.

Hardware components — ratchet tensioners, anchor brackets, ventilation louvers and door systems — are covered under the membrane warranty. Building Depot maintains a full inventory of replacement membrane panels, brackets and hardware in Ontario, which means warranty service is typically scheduled within days, not the weeks it takes a U.S.-based supplier to ship parts across the border.

MAINTENANCE

Simple, predictable upkeep.

Maintenance on a MegaDome fabric building repair services is intentionally minimal — that's a core part of the value proposition versus conventional steel. Annual maintenance comprises a visual inspection of the membrane surface and ratchet tensioning system, a check of ridge vents and gable louvers, a tightening of anchor bolts where exposed and a wash-down of any accumulated debris. The hot-dip galvanized steel frame requires no painting, no rust treatment and no panel replacement over the building's design life, which is a meaningful operating-cost advantage over painted metal buildings that demand recoating every 10–15 years.

Building Depot offers an Ontario-wide annual inspection and re-tensioning service for operators who want a turnkey maintenance contract. A typical building requires a half-day visit once a year to remain in warranty-compliant condition. At the 5–7 year mark, our crews perform a full re-tension of the membrane to compensate for the natural relaxation that occurs in any PVC fabric structure. With that simple maintenance cycle, MegaDome buildings routinely deliver 25–30+ years of service before any fabric replacement is required.
