Military & Defence Fabric Buildings

Building Depot supplies engineered fabric building infrastructure to the Department of National Defence (DND), the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), RCAF wings, reserve units and Tier-1 defence contractors across Ontario. Our MegaDome HHP structures — hot-dip galvanized to CSA G164 — provide the corrosion resistance, structural performance and documentation trail that DND, Defence Construction Canada (DCC) and base construction engineering require.

We deliver under DND / DCC procurement frameworks and align with the department's real property, sustainment and infrastructure renewal priorities. Every project is scoped to the applicable DND technical specifications, base standing orders and Treasury Board requirements, with a compliant paperwork trail from award through commissioning.

The MegaDome system is bolted and modular, not welded on site. That matters for DND infrastructure: a hangar, maintenance shelter or materiel warehouse can be disassembled, transported and re-erected on a different pad as basing plans, force posture or expeditionary requirements evolve. The engineering, foundation anchors and drawings travel with the building.

Typical Ontario DND applications include LAV and MSVS vehicle maintenance shelters, tactical vehicle parking, ammunition and materiel storage, aircraft and helicopter hangars, deployable operations and headquarters facilities, PT and drill shelters, and cold-storage warehousing. FR-rated PVC membrane (CAN/ULC-S102, NFPA 701) is standard where a fire-retardant assembly is specified.

Our installation crews are Canadian citizens, Reliability-cleared under the Contract Security Program where the DND contract requires it, and work to base security-escort and controlled-access procedures. We coordinate with DND project authorities, DCC, base construction engineers, fire marshals and site security throughout — protecting schedule, safety and the security posture of the installation.
